Hecla Mining is a US based mining company which operates a gold mine in the territory of James Bay, Quebec. This property is the Casa Berardi Mine, which is operated via an underground mine.
In recent years, Hydro-Ressources performs hydrogeology and hydrology on this site. In particular, the firm has conducted analyzes regarding:
– The eastern pit
– The Principal mine
– The water supply to the mine site
– Reopening of two collapsed areas.
Hecla Mining is currently developing the east pit, and our firm supports Hecla in the operational dewatering and on water control on site. Especially, surface water is integrated to the model, including water from tailings.
Hydro-Ressources is now working on the characterization of the primary sector. This portion of the mine is located under an esker and water infiltration are more important in this area than in the rest of the mine.
