Tracer test

Tracer tests in groundwater and surface water consist of injecting a substance into the water (a tracer) and to follow it in time and in space. This is a specialty particularly underdeveloped by most consultants and Hydro-Ressources made it a priority.

Tracer tests are used to obtain information of incomparable quality. They include the ability to define the links between different parts of a territory, the flow velocity of groundwater and the dispersive properties of a geological environment.

The main advantage of tracer tests is that the result minimizes assumptions. Indeed, a tracer test converging to a groundwater well allow to confirm, beyond doubt, the connection between the injection point and collection well.
